Food Angel Jockey Club Food Production Centre
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has been one of Food Angel's longest-standing and most valued funding partners since our inception. In 2023, the Club made a generous grant of over HK$335 million to support the construction of Hong Kong's first large-scale social welfare food production facility—the Food Angel Jockey Club Food Production Centre. The funding covers both construction and equipment, and also supports the three-year "Food Angel Jockey Club Soft Meal Programme for Elderly with Swallowing Difficulties".
Centre Overview
Completed in September 2025, this modern facility consolidates Food Angel's previously scattered production sites. Now fully operational, it integrates food production and warehousing functions, significantly boosting the efficiency of surplus food processing and distribution—marking a major milestone in Food Angel’s development.
With triple the storage capacity for dry and frozen goods, the Centre enables greater flexibility in recovering and redistributing a diverse range of surplus food, further advancing our mission of sustainability and sharing.
The Centre also serves as a community hub for soft meal users and carers, offering training courses to strengthen carers’ knowledge and skills. As a public education venue, it will host at least 100 guided tours and workshops for over 3,000 visitors, raising awareness of soft meals, food waste reduction, environmental protection, and poverty issues. These efforts—together with Food Angel's citywide education programmes, foster a culture of food appreciation and waste reduction across Hong Kong.
